The Belmond Hotel das Cataratas is the only hotel situated inside the Brazilian Iguaçu National Park. Because of strict environmental regulations, ordinary taxis, rideshare apps, and unauthorized private cars are prohibited from driving past the visitor visitor center gate (Centro de Visitantes).
Without an authorized transfer, guests arriving with heavy luggage are directed to transfer their bags onto the crowded, scheduled double-decker park buses, adding up to 45 minutes of waiting under tropical heat.
